A 43-year-old woman has 'married' her rented house this week in a desperate bid to keep it.
The former deputy headteacher faces being evicted from the two-bedroom property in Bexleyheath after it was put on the market.
However, the mum-of-four is hoping to raise enough money to buy it and is using the fake wedding to promote her cause.
She told The Mirror: 'I had a ceremony. I put my dress on. I don't care – I have a method in my madness. I don't care if people think I'm a nutter. You would have to take me kicking and screaming from this house.'
She launched a Crowdfunder to raise £400,000 to buy the property herself, but so far she's only managed to make £56.
When asked about her relationship status now, Deborah said: 'I am single but I do have a man in my life.
'Norman is a man – he's got a man's spirit – and he looks after us. I think houses do have spirits sometimes.'
In January, she was blasted by Philip Schofield on This Morning for spending £2,800 in benefits on her children's Christmas presents.
This week, she staged a protest outside her home and claimed that her family will be forced to live in cramped, temporary accommodation if evicted.
The artist also made a video to get her message out there.
