12-year-old girl tries to kill her mum over iPhone

A 12-year-old girl in the US allegedly tried twice to kill her mother by spiking her drinks with bleach.
Her mother had taken her iPhone away and the girl is now being detained on suspicion of attempted murder.
The first attempt to poison her mother occurred on March 2, when the girl poured bleach into her mom's breakfast smoothie.
The mother smelled the chlorine bleach, but thought it was caused by the glass not being rinsed properly.
The second attempt happened on March 6, when the daughter poured bleach into a water carafe in the mother's bedroom.
"On the second occasion, mom noticed the odour of bleach and confronted her daughter. This is when she learned her daughter had developed a plan to kill her for taking away her iPhone," the statement said.
