A man was woken by a burglar who claimed he was a ghost and told him to get back to sleep.
26-year-old Hleb Kudryashov remembers being woken up at his home in Russia and seeing a man in the room. He asked: 'Who are you?'
The thief, Bogdan Denisov, 25, replied: 'I am a ghost, go back to sleep.'
Kudryashov obliged and dozed back off.
In the morning he discovered his wallet, watch and mobile have been stolen.
Detectives later traced the crook when he tried to sell the mobile telephone and identified him as repeat offender Denisov.
A police spokesman said: 'He was taken to visit the victim who quickly identified the ghost, and he was arrested and charged with burglary.'
