Parents are angry after only one pupil from a secondary school passed their matric exams.
When only four matrics at Charles Hlengwa Secondary School in South Africa, passed in 2013, parents were concerned.
But when only one passed last year's exams, they got angry.
And now some of them believe the school is haunted by the late king Hlengwa's ancestors
Parents gathered at the school in Mashiwase, south of Durban, on Sunday to voice their anger.
Their disbelief got worse when it was shown that the one pupil who passed only managed to achieve an H symbol, which is reportedly well below the 50% mark.
At the meeting chaired by local induna and SGB member Dr Walter Ngcobo, some parents pointed out that when the school was named after Inkosi Hlengwa, 26 years ago, an official opening never took place.
A parent, Bhekameva Msomi, said: "Three of my kids were in matric at the school in 2008 and they all failed. They went to another school and did well. We believe the problem is with the school. The school can't be named after Inkosi and not be introduced to his ancestors," he said.
KZN Department of Education spokesman Muzi Mahlambi said: "Lack of resources have nothing to do with teaching and learning, but we will intervene and get to the root of the problem."
