A man's corpse has been stolen at a mortuary in South Africa.
Bheki Manzi who was principal of Mandlethu High School in Amatikwe near Inanda and had a security company responsible for crowd control at PSL matches, died on 6 January and his family began fighting about who should bury him and where.
A court ruled that his widow should bury him.
Widow Leh Manzi wanted to bury him in Durban.
His mother and son Mzamo, from his first marriage, wanted him buried at his birthplace, KwaMaphumulo in the KZN Midlands.
Mourners gathered at Princess Magogo Stadium in KwaMashu on Sunday to bid farewell, not knowing the coffin was empty.
The mortuary said: "Yes, on Saturday morning our staff were beaten and held at gunpoint by a group of men who took Manzi's body."
One of Manzi's daughters, who didn't want to be named, said the family were fed up and wanted peace.
She said: "His corpse is at KwaMaphumulo, where other family members wanted him to be buried."
