A lawyer claims that he and other black families were racially abused at the Fat Monkeys Lodge in Malawi.
Apparently lawyer Noel Chalamanda, former TV news anchor Thomas Chafunya and other families were first denied vehicle entry and had to park outside and then walk in.
They claim that they were told they could not come in and the owner's wife branded them 'black monkeys' in Afrikaans.
Chafunya says that he will lodge a formal complaint with the Minister of Tourism, Moses Kunkuyu.
The alleged incident has caused uproar on Facebook and on Tripadvisor one reviewer identified as Angelo44 wrote: "This is a nice a establishment, the rooms are cosy, affordable and well priced. Customer service is great...if you are White. This Christmas, they barred black people from entering, calling them black monkeys, in Afrikaner. Not nice at all, Madam owner of this place has been the subject of many complaints..."
