A secret video recorded inside the Paris hotel where Kim Kardashian was robbed has reportedly sparked a police investigation.
A gossip site published a video showing Kardashian in the No Name Hotel as authorities surveyed the scene where the star had just been robbed at gunpoint of roughly $5.6 million dollars worth of jewellery.
The clip shows the reality TV star sitting on the couch, wrapped in a blanket and FaceTiming with someone.
The footage led the 35-year-old's legal team to work with French authorities to determine who was recording the unauthorised video, TMZ reported.
In France, it is illegal to film someone in a private space without their consent and it is seemingly clear that no one was aware video was being taken. Kardashian's legal team also had websites remove the video considering the legalities surrounding it.
If the person responsible for the video is caught by authorities he or she could face up to a year in prison and nearly $50,000 in fines.
Kardashian is reportedly not doing well after she was tied up and robbed at gunpoint on Oct. 2. The reality star has been keeping a low profile since the incident, and has refrained from social media.
Sources have said that she is "blaming herself" for the robbery, because she often flaunted her pricey bling — including her $4.5 million Lorraine Schwartz engagement ring from her husband Kanye West — on Snapchat and other social networking platforms.
Officials have been unable to find the five masked men that held up the star, as security camera footage recovered provided no evidence.
