A man who tried to lick a woman's foot on a train has been jailed for 15 months.
A court heard how drunken Carlos Spigno, 50, began rubbing the terrified passenger's feet despite frantic pleas for him to stop.
He then lurched forward to lick her ankles and thrust his hand up her skirt.
Italian Spigno, from Erith, South East London, denied two counts of sexual assault, insisting the woman had allowed him to fondle her feet.
But last week, he was convicted at Blackfriars crown court with Judge Peter Clarke adding: "Mr Spigno is an unhappy individual.
"He has no conception of how devastating his behaviour is towards defenceless women and he still has no idea."
His victim was travelling on a train in South East London last September, heading home to North Wales after viewing a house in the capital.
Spigno stumbled into the carriage and sat opposite her.
He hurled "obnoxious and drunken" abuse at her and the "overt and sinister" touching began after another female passenger left the train.
Spigno, who was convicted in 1992 for indecent exposure, then fled at Waterloo East station but was later arrested.
In a statement, the victim said: "It has really knocked my confidence."
